Dear, bicara tentang linguistic sebenernya membuat hati aku bergetar hehe, kenapa? cause i'm interest it. Bahkan pernah kepikiran untuk ngambil s2 linguistic loh :D nah here : ada secercak tulisan tentang lingusitik :


What is linguistics?
Linguistics is the systematic – scientific study of human language.

Linguistics can be divided into:
- language form
- language meaning
- language context

    Archaeological records that communication with language emerged about 200 000 years ago. (Ralph Fasold & Jeff Connor- Linton; Introduction to language and linguistics; Cambridge University press; 2006). But other source said that the earliest linguistics activities known in Iron age India (about 8 century BC).

• In our believe, in Holy Qur’an , chapter 2 ; al-Baqarah (the cow), verses 30, there was a conversation between God and Angels in creating man in the earth, And when the Thy Lord said to the angels:
• “wa’id qoola robbuka lil malaa’ikati innii jaa’ilung fil ardi khalifah, qooluu ataz’alu fiihaa man yyufsidu fiihaa wa yas fiquddimaa’a wa nahnu nusabbihuu bihamdika wanuqoddisulaq, qoolaa innii ‘a lamu malaa ta’ lamuun….
• “ I am going to place a ruler in the earth” and they said: ”Wilth thou [thau] place in it such as make mischief in it and shed blood, And we celebrate Thy praise and extol Thy holiness? He said, “ Surely I know what you know not.”
• (“Sesungguhnya Aku hendak menjadikan seorang khalifah di muka bumi” Mereka berkata, “ Mengapa Engkau hendak menjadikan (khalifah) di bumi itu orang yang akan membuat kerusakan padanya dan menumpahkan darah, padahal kami senantiasa bertasbih dengan memuji Engkau dan mensucikan Engkau?” Tuhan berfirman, “ Sesungguhnya Aku mengetahui apa yang tidak kamu ketahui.”

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN            : "Hello"
WOMAN     : "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"
MAN            : "Yes"
WOMAN     : "I'm at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $1,000. Is it OK if I buy it?

MAN            : "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."
WOMAN     : "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2007 models. I saw one I really liked."

MAN            : "How much?"

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH SPEAKING

Assalamualaikum wr. Wb.

In the name of Allah the beneficent and the merciful.

Praise is to Allah, the lord of the world, and the sequel is for those who keep their duty unto him. Further, there will be no hostility except against wrong doers. Blessing and salutation upon the most honorable prophet and messenger, his families, all his disciples, and those who follow them in goodness till the any of judgment. In this good chance, I would like to deliver my speech by title:

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR ENGLISH SPEAKING

Ladies and Gentleman!

First of all, I want to give a little talking about English. As we know English is very important for this global era. Because English is the international language and a million people speak English and make English as a second language. English Used in the economic relations, business relations, ect. Especially for the English teacher, speaking English is a common language that used by the teacher. Because the students will appreciated us if we have a good performance in speaking English. Person's ability to speak English is crucial assumptions about the other person judge about can or cannot we master the English language. But of course structural and grammatical theory are also very important for improve our English speaking.

Dear Audience!

Now I will deliver my speech about how to improve your English speaking. There are five points I’ll give for you to improve your English speaking. The first is singing an English song, listen the song then Read the words and sing along with the cassette. This can be done alone or with a karaoke. You should listen very carefully for the pronunciation of words and then find the mean of that song so you can know what is the song tell about. Or don’t look at the lyrics before you play a song. Try to dictate the lyrics while you are listening to the song. Play back as many times as you like until you can catch the words. This will help you to listen intensively for details. The second is find the news, short story or article in the book, newspaper or internet that use English language then trying to understand the news by translating every vocabulary that you get. The third is writing the diary with English language. So it can confide you and say what you want to say in English. The fourth is seeing the movie or the film in English language, so you can watch the way people pronounce in English and translate it for understand the movie or the films. And the fifth is make a partner, Try to speaking with your lecture, your friends or your family in English, The communication is can be happen in the short message, in the phone or when you meet them. You also can do exercise to debate with your friend about the new topic, etc. And the key of all the points is: don’t worry to make a mistake and be brave so you can improve your English speaking.

(SENTENCE) Semester 1 - Writing 1 - Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris

• Sentence is a group of words that make a complete mean
• Kind of sentence (berdasarkan jenis sentence):

1. Declarative sentence/ assertive (FACT) -> menyampaikan, mengumumkan, atau melaporkan sesuatu/ declare something.
2. Introgative sentence -> kalimat tanya
3. Imperative sentence -> treaty (perjanjian), command, memohon dengan sangat, request, suggestion
4. Exclamatory sentence -> biasanya diikuti tanda seru, some strong feeling, tiba2 (sudden)
5. Optative sentence -> expressed a wish, pro debility (kemungkinan), supposition (perkiraan) (ex: it will rain today,etc)

• banana -> bodoh sekali
• Watching (for something indirect like television,etc), Seeing (for something direct like concert, etc)

1. Simple sentences -> terdiri dari satu subject dan 1 object
2. Compound sentences -> 2 or more coordinate clauses (sederajat) yaitu: (But, for, and, so, or, to, etc)
3. Complex Sentence -> consist of one main clause (1 induk kalimat) dan 1 atau lebih anak kalimat (when, which, if, who, whenever, that , although, because, whatever, however, etc) Contoh :
